Course Overview

This is the orientation part of the Business Analyst Course to gain insight and a greater understanding of the role and the environment of the Business Analyst.

• Topology diagram - Example Branch Banking • Topology diagram - Example of Branch-banking and ATM topology • Topology diagram - Example of Branch-banking, ATM and Digital topology

B1.3.3 Active, Passive, Disaster Recovery and Layers
• Example of North or Active production environment • Example of South or Passive production environment • Example of Disaster Recovery (DR) production environment • The Presentation layer is the first layer of the banking topology • The Business layer is the second layer of the banking topology • The SOA layer is the third layer of the banking topology • The Data layer is the fourth layer of the banking topology

B1.3.4 Functions, Calls and Databases
• Each Function uses one or more Infrastructure components to access the Topology • Functions access the company’s network and use the hardware and software on the Active Site • Functions access the company’s network and use the hardware and software on the Passive Site • Functions as a last resort can be served by the Disaster Recovery environment • The Topology diagram represents the Network, Hardware and Software packages used by functions • Calls between layers are done by Services such as WEB, SOAP, REST, WSDL through interfaces such as APIs or Webhooks • Calls between layers go through a cycle such as CRUD which can be mapped to a Service such as an API • Functions will mainly be developed by deploying APIs which trigger a set of routines, protocols and tools typically affecting Databases • A Database consists of various attributes • An example on how rows are selected using an API • An example on how rows are inserted using an API • An example on how rows are updated using an API • An example on how rows are deleted using an API • Further common API examples • Example of a call involving a customer table/file
